VT-4825 UNIVERSAL 2K VACUUM METALLIZING TOPCOAT
DESCRIPTION VT-4825 is a Universal High Gloss, "2K" Metallizing and Sputtering Topcoat, designed for use in interior and exterior Automotive grade Vacuum Metallizing applications. Among its attributes, VT-4825 provides a highly modified mild solvent system that allows it to be used over most conventional and all Chemically resistant and 2K Basecoats. VT-4825 can be applied directly over Acrylic surfaces, for use as a barrier coat. In addition, This 2K VM Topcoat offers relatively short curing cycle requirements, exceptional water soak, humidity and U.V. resistance, and delivers optimum brilliance and outstanding Mar resistance in a two component system. VT-4825 lends itself for use in most general purpose and decorative Metallizing applications, where greater film hardness and above average film characteristics are required. VT-4825 has been tested to, and meets the Ford Motor Company ESF M5P1-A specification.

For fastest Cure, use in conjunction with SX-167 Cure Accelerator. Add 1% SX-167 by weight, to catalyzed VB-4825. REDUCTION Apply as is, or reduce as required with TH-552 2K Reducer Blend. APPLICATION Method: Apply by conventional and HVLP Spray. CURE CYCLE Flash off 15 minutes, followed by a 60 minute cure at a minimum of 160 degrees F. STORAGE Store in tightly sealed containers, at ambient temperatures. Protect from moisture, evaporation and foreign materials. Process ability of this product can be adversely affected by evaporation and contamination. POT LIFE VT-4825 offers an approximate pot life of 12 hours when catalyzed with SX-122. Pot life may be reduced by as much as 75% when used in conjunction with SX-167 Cure Accelerator. SHELF LIFE 12 months, provided materials are kept in sealed original containers under specified conditions. Storage beyond this period can produce higher viscosities.
