THIN FILM DEPOSITION

Vacuum Metallizing is the state of the art process of thin film vapor deposition of various metals, like Aluminum and Chrome.

Paints and Coatings are commonly used in Vacuum Metallizing finishing for various reasons, including: adhesion promotion, substrate surface leveling and protection of the optical film after deposition. These coatings are commonly referred to as Vacuum Metallizing Basecoats, Topcoats and Primers.

ABOUT THIN FILM VM TECHNOLOGY

Vacuum Metallizing is the state of the art process of thin film vapor deposition of various metals, like Aluminum and Chrome.

During this process, metals are vaporized (or evaporated) within a vacuum chamber, and then re-deposited on to a surface. The most common types of substrates that are coated in this format are various grades of Metal and Plastics. Aluminum, Steel, Zinc Die Cast, ABS, Acrylic, Polycarbonate, Nylon and Polyester are examples of these. Once the vapor deposition process has completed, the substrate emerges from the vacuum chamber with a mirror-like highly reflective finish.

Vacuum Metallizing is most commonly used in the manufacture of Interior and Exterior grade Automotive, residential and commercial lighting, Mirror fabrication, overhead decorative louvers and trim accessories, trophies, jewelry, cosmetics and toys.
